What is the cost of stress for Australian companies per year?

In 2005, Medibank-commissioned research found that:

• healthy employees are three times more productive than unhealthy employees;

• unhealthy employees take nine times more sick leave than healthy employees.

In 2007, Medibank-commissioned research found that:

• presenteeism costs $25.7 billion annually;

• on average, six working days of productivity are lost per year per employee due to presenteeism.

The key findings of the recent Medibank-commissioned research are that:

• Stress-related presenteeism and absenteeism are costing the Australian economy $14.81 billion a year.

• Stress-related presenteeism and absenteeism are directly costing employers $10.11 billion a year.


What to expect about Yoga Alma’s Corporate Classes?

Our Corporate Yoga classes are structured to suit your unique working environment, your employees and your working day. Our classes will help students build strength, flexibility, relaxation and mindfulness.

  • A typical class would involve some breathing exercises, a physical warm up that includes movement and stretches (yoga/pilates) and some relaxation/meditation.

  • Classes are designed with you to suit your needs and goals. 

  • Classes are accessible for all levels and group experience. No previous knowledge of yoga/pilates/meditation is required.

  • Stress Management Workshop and Mindfulness program available on request.

Through our CORPORATE YOGA offerings we aim to offer participants healthy yogic tools and practices for body and mind for dealing with stress and anxiety and to assist with achieving better work-life balance and greater well-being.

Active physical movement proactively supports the wellbeing of employees, it not only improves health and fitness, but it increases a sense of overall wellbeing, happiness and contributes towards a positive working culture. Yoga teaches the virtues of accountability, focus, calmness and loyalty; it also increases employee retention while decreasing sick leave.

  • Pricing and options can be tailored to suit your company’s individual wellness program and theme.

  • You can choose the duration of the classes (45/60/75 min) for corporate packages.

  • Corporate packages could be paid for together in advance in up to two payments.

  • One off class must be paid in advance. If employees are paying for the class individually, the payment must be done through the online booking system.

  • $15* per student for individual payment or partial subsidy.

  • Up to 15 people.

  • Pricing includes props and up to 10 mats.

  • Parking needs to be provided.
